Earlier today Microsoft and Nokia announced a new mobile partnership that would see Windows become the OS of choice on Nokia handsets going forward. We’ll also see Bing and adCenter dominate on Nokia phones while Symbian and MeeGo become effectively side projects.
Both companies have just attended a Strategy and Financial Briefing in London where the deal was sealed with both Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer taking to the stage and discussing the new direction.
Is this the start of a fruitful new relationship that sees both companies return to the top of the mobile market? Or is this just another marker in the ongoing domination of iPhone and Android platforms?
